Plumbing in Humble, TX

Serving Humble — free estimates, written quotes, no obligation.

Humble has been a city since 1933, and its plumbing history runs almost as long as its oil history. We work the whole area — the old core near downtown, the Northpark and Deerbrook corridors, Kingwood, and out toward Fall Creek — covering 77338, 77339 and 77345.

It's one of the few places we work where a house can be genuinely old by Houston standards, which changes what we expect to find.

An incorporated city with its own utilities

Humble runs its own water and sewer system and its own permitting, which distinguishes it from unincorporated Atascocita immediately to the east. Two adjacent areas, two different authorities and two different water supplies — and homeowners moving between them are often surprised that the process and the water aren't the same.

There's a piece of local history behind that water system: Humble Oil struck a deal with the town to supply water and natural gas free of charge in exchange for drilling rights, an arrangement that ran until 1988. The utility that exists today grew out of that.

Permitted work — sewer replacement, repiping, gas lines — goes through the city. We pull it as part of the job.

The oldest housing we work on

The core of Humble near the original downtown includes some of the oldest residential stock in our service area. In houses of that vintage we regularly find galvanized supply lines corroded from the inside, cast-iron drains that have scaled until the bore is a fraction of the original, and clay sewer laterals whose joints have been worked apart by decades of seasonal clay movement.

Kingwood is a different era again — largely 1970s through 2000s, developed in phases through the woods. The older Kingwood villages have exactly the profile you'd expect: mature pine and oak with root systems that find any compromised sewer joint, plus copper under the slab that's now old enough for pinhole corrosion, plus polybutylene supply in homes from the late 70s to mid-90s.

Fall Creek and the newer construction toward Beltway 8 are PEX and PVC, where we're doing water heater work, tankless conversions and settlement-related sewer issues rather than corrosion repairs.

Flooding is part of the picture here

Humble sits near the confluence of the San Jacinto and Lake Houston, and this area has taken serious water more than once. That history matters to plumbing in ways homeowners don't always connect.

Saturated, shifting ground is hard on buried pipe — it accelerates joint separation and bellying in sewer lines. Silt intrusion through a compromised joint is something we still find in lines here years after the fact, and it's a common reason a line that was cabled clear blocks again quickly. Where flood water reached a water heater or gas appliance, the damage isn't always obvious immediately.

If your home took water and you've had recurring drain problems since, a camera inspection is worth doing before anyone quotes you another cleaning.

A short run from Porter

We're based just north in Porter, so Humble is one of our closer service areas — we're not coming from the other side of Houston. That matters most on the calls where it matters at all: a burst line, a failed heater, sewage backing into a downstairs tub.

Estimates and repairs run Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm. There's no service fee on repairs, so a second opinion on a sewer replacement or repipe quote costs you nothing. Financing is available through Synchrony.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Humble handle its own permits and water?

Yes. Humble has been an incorporated city since 1933 and runs its own water and sewer utility and its own permitting. That's different from Atascocita immediately east, which is unincorporated and served by Harris County municipal utility districts — two adjacent areas with different authorities and different water.

My house flooded a few years ago and the drains keep backing up. Are those connected?

Very possibly. Saturated, shifting ground accelerates joint separation and bellying in buried sewer lines, and silt that entered through a compromised joint can still be in the line years later. It's a common reason a line that was cabled clear blocks again quickly. A camera inspection is worth doing before paying for another cleaning.

What plumbing should I expect in an older Kingwood home?

It depends on the village. The earlier phases are 1970s–80s, so mature pine and oak roots pressing on sewer joints, copper under the slab old enough for pinhole corrosion, and polybutylene supply in homes built from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. Later Kingwood and Fall Creek construction is PEX and PVC with entirely different failure patterns.

How old is the plumbing in downtown Humble homes?

Some of the oldest we work on. In houses near the original core we regularly find galvanized supply corroded from the inside, cast-iron drains scaled down to a fraction of their original bore, and clay sewer laterals with joints separated by decades of seasonal clay movement.

Do you charge to come out to Humble?
